Private Health System
If you need private health assistance, you can buy either a health insurance policy at your country of origin that has coverage in Spain, or a private medical insurance policy in the Basque Country:
Dental Care
- The Spanish Social Security system does not cover dental care. However, in an emergency, you should follow the normal procedure and go to the emergency medical service.
- Alternatively, you can also use the service at the Faculty of Medicine and Odontology at the University of the Basque Country. They have a campus in Leioa, where you can get dental services by appointment. Contact phone numbers are: +34 946 012 942 / +34 946 012 941. Please note that there is a waiting list of 2 months or more, and that this service is only provided in Spanish.
